BUMATECH Bursa Machine Technologies Fair Opened Its Doors

BUMATECH Bursa Machine Technologies Fairs, an intercontinental gathering in Bursa for the machine manufacturing sector, is now officially open.
Mahmut Demirtaş, the Governor of Bursa; Alinur Aktaş, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality; Hasan Büyükdede, Former Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology; İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Exhibitions Production Inc.; Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Machine Tools Industrialists and Businessperson Association; S. Emre Gencer, President of the Machine Manufacturers Association; and Cüneyt Şener, Vice Chairman of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) and other sector representatives attended the opening of the fairs.
 
The trade fair, scheduled from November 29th to December 2nd, is expected to host around 37,000 professional visitors from 92 countries and more than 400 companies and representatives from 25 countries.
 
BUMATECH, organized by Tüyap Bursa Fuarcılık A.Ş. and the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) in collaboration with the Machine  Tools Industrialists and Businessperson Association (TIAD) and the Machine Manufacturers Association (MIB) under the aegis of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, is set to take place at the Tüyap Bursa International Fair and Congress Center, offering a consolidated platform for the 21st Bursa Metal Processing Technologies Fair, 14th Sheet Processing Technologies Fair, and 20th Automation Fair on an international scale.
The fairs are expected to draw around 400 companies and representatives from 25 countries, spanning across 40,000 square meters and seven halls. The fairs will feature state-of-the-art innovations in a wide range of robotic systems, 3D printers and scanners, fiber laser optical cutting machines, and CNC machines, attracting visitors from 92 countries, mainly from the Middle East, the Balkans, North Africa, and Europe.
 
 
Mahmut Demirtaş, the Governor of Bursa, expressed in his opening speech, “I believe that BUMATECH Fairs can play a crucial role in addressing the challenges that our industry is facing. It is essential that our country focuses on increasing both exports and imports, as well as producing goods that are better in quality and quantity than those of foreign countries. I have high hopes for you in this regard, and I hope you set an example for the rest of the world”.

Emphasizing the importance of BUMATECH Fairs as an event where the heart of technology and innovation beats, Alinur Aktaş, the Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, stated, “This event provides a unique opportunity to showcase cutting-edge technology products, machine sub-industry equipment and materials to a community of enthusiasts. The fair serves as a bridge to facilitate new collaborations, exchange of information, and in-depth exploration of the latest developments in the machine sector. Bursa, renowned as one of the most distinguished trading cities in the world, has demonstrated a remarkable blend of industry and technology. The textile and ready-to-wear clothing, automotive, sub-industry, food, agriculture and livestock, machine and equipment, and metal sectors have emerged as the leading sectors of Bursa’s industry. As a result, our city has attracted hundreds of international investors, including industry giants. I believe these trade shows will contribute significantly to consolidating our city’s dominant position in industry”.
The sector reached a production volume of 60 billion dollars.
The Former Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Hasan Büyükdede, has reported that the Turkish machine sector has shown immense growth in both its capacity and exports over the years and continued, “On the occasion of the Republic’s 100th anniversary, this sector has reached a production volume of 60 billion dollars. As of 2022, the production volume has increased to 22.5 billion dollars, with an initial volume of 11.5 billion dollars contributing towards the overall 38 billion dollar volume. The city of Bursa is expected to further increase its production volumes in this sector. It is my belief that the innovative technologies showcased at these trade shows will open new horizons for our industrialists”.
37k visitors aimed
İlhan Ersözlü, the General Manager of Tüyap Exhibitions Production Inc., stated, “Bursa Machine Technologies Fairs, a highly anticipated meeting of the machine sector with an astounding export volume of 1.5 billion dollars, is hosting 204 brands. The city of Bursa plays a crucial role in our national economy and serves as a bridge to exports. Bumatech Fairs have witnessed a considerable increase in the rate of local producers, which has become significantly important for our country in recent years. The fair has recorded a high percentage of local production, with 80% of fair attendants engaged. The aim is to host more than 37,000 visitors by the end of the fair in Bursa”.

Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Machine Tools Industrialists and Businessperson Association, emphasized that the manufacturers in Bursa were surpassing their global counterparts in terms of innovation and technology and continued: “Bursa, being the capital city of subindustry, was the first to utilize cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing. Bursa has transformed into a thriving industry town with a strong reputation for breaking export records and producing world-renowned brands. The city’s passion for manufacturing is evident, and the heart of the manufacturing industry beats here. In order to compete globally, it is important to create, manufacture, and market up-to-date products of high quality. We believe that BUMATECH is best suited to meet the region’s expectations in this regard.”.
We need to ensure digital transformation.
S. Emre Gencer, President of the Machine Manufacturers Association, proudly announced the machine industry’s capability to export 28 billion dollars and stated, “As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we acknowledge the need to ensure digital transformation in the machine industry to compete with European countries. Developed nations offer incentives in all sectors of the manufacturing industry to boost efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. Our country must allocate significant resources and facilitate digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. In the last two years, we have made medium to high and high transitions, resulting in obtaining substantial resources”.

Cüneyt Şener, Vice Chairman of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), has emphasized that they are committed to supporting the machine industry in Bursa. Şener added, “Bursa’s leading position in sectors such as automotive and textile is a direct result of its progress in the machine industry. We are working diligently to provide support to Bursa’s machine industry. Sixty percent of the new generation organized industrial zone is created with the support of the machine industry representatives”.

BUMATECH will be open for visiting from November 29th and December 1st, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on the last day on December 2nd, Saturday.
